Compare the Trakscan Plus Systems

Three systems, one capability: fully automatic fission track counting. The differences are in the microscope stand and objectives — here is the honest comparison.

Every Trakscan Plus system incorporates the fully automatic track counting first presented by Professor Andrew Gleadow of the University of Melbourne at the ECTC 2006 conference in Bremen, Germany — running the latest Fission TrackStudio software (TrackWorks + FastTracks). In each system the stage and joystick connect directly to the microscope, so no separate stage controller is required.

The DeLuxe

The flagship of our fleet, based on the Zeiss Z2m with its extensive motorisation and heavy-duty 10 nm focus drive. If your laboratory wants maximum configuration flexibility and the complete objective set, this is the one.

The Professional

Based on the much less expensive Zeiss M2m, which still incorporates a high degree of motorisation and carries the same excellent digital camera. The 2.5× and 5× objectives are omitted. In all other respects — and within those limitations — its performance is comparable to the DeLuxe, and we would not hesitate to recommend it to laboratories with some budget limitations.

The Premier

Again based on the Zeiss M2m, with a few further deliberate compromises to fit the budget limits many laboratories quote us: the 10×, 20× and 50× objectives are Epiplan rather than Epiplan-Neofluar types. They remain perfectly usable for FTD work and can be swapped for Epiplan-Neofluar types by the user at any time. The 100× objective — the one critical for FTD — stays a full Epiplan-Neofluar in every system we sell.
