In the recent past our sales have mainly gone to countries where we already have installations — so it is with great pleasure that we announce a shipment, which left our offices on 11 October 2021, to Slovakia. With the move to the NBN offering us little, and our fax line receiving nothing but rubbish, our old landline numbers (+61 3 9596 8065, +61 3 9596 8092 and fax +61 3 9596 8369) were retired on 15 January 2021.

The COVID years forced us to cancel trips to China and Brisbane, and put on hold our plan to film a video showing how to assemble the Zeiss AxioImager microscope — the most difficult part of an installation, and one that a good video (with a Mandarin soundtrack kindly offered by our Brisbane client) would let new clients complete largely by themselves, with the rest of the installation done remotely.
Update: we have since been to Brisbane and Perth, as well as the USA, China and Malaysia — and attended the Thermochronology Conference at Lake Garda, with visits to European labs in Bremen (Germany), Bratislava (Slovakia) and Bergen (Norway) on the itinerary. Apart from a wedding in Washington, DC, that might be just enough to keep us off the streets!
Autoscan Systems continued to operate throughout the lockdowns. The 17th international FTD conference (Thermo 2020/2021, Santa Fe, NM) was repeatedly rescheduled — organising an international FTD conference is very hard work at the best of times, and we wished Rich Ketcham and his team all the best. In the meantime, the community's virtual FTD meetings kept everyone connected.
